feels oooooooooooooh soooooooo goooood.

Because i don’t want to be locked up for several years, i’ll not blog much about army stuff.

but all i can say was first week was quite shitty, but i think subsequently it got better / will get better. anyway everyone says bmt’s fun. even though it still feels sian knowing most of the friends are in ocs / sispec / everywhere already when i’m still a mere two weeks into my recruit life.

But i think the important thing’s keeping positive and going strong. won’t be easy but i’ll tryyyyyyyyy not to miss civilian life too much, ugh.

oh ya, tekong makes everyone fall sick. to date 7 or 8 of my 13 section mates, myself included, are/have been down with fever/flu/injuries already. rocks.

BYE BYE i’m booking in tmr night and coming out friday night again! at least this week will be fast.

okay so tmr is my big day. even though it isn’t so glamorous now that nearly every male around me has been through it already. anyway it’s still a milestone of sorts i guess. haha. civilian no more.

have not blogged as much as i would have liked. no choice la the past few days have been going out and going out and more going out with the friends and nick. and times at home = sleep or bejeweled or fifa or just lazing around. sigh the past few days really flew by in instant it’s unbelievable how much i’ve been looking forward to tmr but dreading it these few days. boo.

the past couple of days i’ve been bothered by stuff that rarely affected me. but it’s okay. i think it’s not very possible to make everybody in the world like me (enough) anyway. i don’t really feel like trying any harder, even though i am probably not trying very hard now. i am still very confident. or will try to be. quality, not quantity. okay this is like self-comforting ha.

anyway, don’t know whether i’m more excited or nervous now. wah wah wah. byebye hair!

Okay i feel like blogging about recent (or not so recent) movies i’ve watched!!! actually feels like a lot a lot but when i recall one by one it’s quite few. don’t know if i left out any also. nvm, then less for me to ramble on:D i think it begins from 2009. i’ve also decided to act pro and give stars!!!  So in no significant order:

1) Changeling ***

thought it was just okay! didn’t leave much of an impact on me. anyway it’s so long ago, i think i forgot how i felt exactly already. so this is quite pointless. haha.

2) Slumdog Millionaire *****

yay i loved it. initially i didn’t like the sequence of the scenes, the flashbacks and all. but the plot was really nice and full of action and had a pretty happy ending even though i felt sorry for the Brother Salim. although it’s not exactly easy to follow his development because he just rocks back and forth between hero and villain. i don’t like that feeling because i don’t like (too much) ambiguity in perceiving people. and 2 days ago i just downloaded the Jai Ho song after watching the video on KennySia!!! unlike some others i was not brutally struck by how poor and pitiful rural India is or what. okay should i feel guilty about that. hmm. guess i am a typical uncaring Singaporean… But anyway i loved the show.

3) Benjamin Button *****

okay i think this was what, some ten million years ago. but despite it being extremely draggy and slow, especially when you’re nursing a bursting bladder, I LOVED IT. crap Brat Pit is damn hot and handsome cannot stand it man. shit i am a horrible reviewer i don’t know what to say already. the plot was damn well-written (or maybe like many of the movies it’s adapted from novels hahaha reminds me of my A levels GP essay). anyway the screenplay was still lovely and the music and atmosphere and all fitted rosily. the ending was so freaking sad and touching man really. if it wasn’t so time-consuming i would watch it again.

4) He’s Just Not That Into You (Reminds me of the David Archuleta song) ***.5

okay it was funny and quite relaxing but like all chick flicks/lit, it’s just nice for some stress-free entertainment. maybe it’s the boy in me but the lack of a climax and sufficient action make for a pretty meaningless concoction. that said, slapstick and brainless humour do appeal to me in their own way (: okay la at least this is a different genre from what i usually watch. shopaholic’s next if i have time HAHA.

5) Watchmen **

in all honesty, quite a waste of my money. the action was okay but i thought the plot was pretty rubbish. can’t even recall much of it now. i like tear-jerking endings but this show had none. oh, plus they overdid the flashbacks. very very confusing. and the superheroes were quite noob, no superpowers one. and don’t know what’s with the cold war context. the war scene with the big blue man was damn comical though.

6) DRAGONBALL EVOLUTION HAHA ****

didn’t even want to watch this at first. but as a favour to hazel i ended up accompanying him. this show lasted for an hour and fifteen minutes, seriously not value for money. but other than that it was quite nice to watch. the plot was really simple. like some pokemon/digimon/power rangers episode. but i don’t really mind such shows la (: too bad they didn’t show more of the school scenes, i loved those. one extra star for the female lead Chi Chi!!! played by Jamie Chung who was serious eye candy. damn cute. proof:

7) Gran Torino *****

okay back to business. i just watched this a few days ago! and it left a huge impression on me. especially with reference to all my comments above, i thought this was a damn good mix of action and sentimentality. i seriously didn’t expect the ending, i thought it would be another of those good-triumph-over-evil kinda shows. so i really felt crazy sad. clint eastwood is <3333

I shall refrain from peppering this post with excessive expletives by talking about the Hong Kong ‘horror’ hazel and i watched at my house so aptly titled “吓死你!”. walao eh we really dieded at the complete… idiocy??? of the plot and attempts to scare us to death. okay this is like severe understatement. credits to the spooky-looking cover which managed to cheat us into selecting it.

Was my 19th birthday!!!!!!!

Okay after procrastinating for a century (ok half a month) i am finally blogging about it. I cannot not do it because i want to remember it like 5 or 10 or maybe even 40 years down the road. then i can show my cute little kids daddy’s birthday when he was merely 19. And plus i blog about my birthday every year, so i must continue this. And and and, it’s such an important event to me and my friends and probably you reading this, so how can i not touch on it at all?

the long wait’s partly because i was lazy. but mostly cos i was pre-occupied by work, relationship matters and fifa when i’m free. and more imptly, cos i don’t have many of the pictures. so maybe i’ll slot them into this post another day. yeah i think i will.

Okay so ‘birthfeste’ began on friday the 13th. because i had work, i was happily minding my own business when the colleagues called me over. and surprise! i saw a birthday cake with happy birthday simchun. very very touching. okay maybe not very surprising cos i smelled the candle flame from my area. anyway they all sang birthday song for me omg la. they treat me like some prince sia. and that day during lunch my aunt brought me out to tanglin mall to eat and we picked a nice (and slightly gay) Braun Buffel wallet as my present THANKS GUGU.

anyway after that i went to meet hazel and jijo! supposed to be a celebration but it was basically dinner at shokudo and sitting around. and mixing drinks in burger king hahahaha we’re pathetic. thanks for the 100 dollar bedsheet man, i’m sure i’ll find some use for it.

saturday the 14th was coincidentally nus & ntu open house. went nus with kheexuan while junshyang and woankeng went ntu. the open house was okay, not much worth mentioning haha. but the people are all very friendly so two thumbs up (: after that we took a train to city hall (again) to meet up with the 2 of them (plus mag the surprise package). and after waiting damn damn long, they unveiled a cute birthday cake along a dirty staircase and sang birthday song and i was very touched hahahaha. after that we went for dinner at marina foodcourt and we went to harry’s bar at the esplanade to watch The Manu Disaster. were joined by benpoh and xuanyi. the TV sucked balls so at half time we walked over to chijmes and joined the hp guys, chaiyi marcus paul nigelbay. afterwards we left for supper before cabbing home. (okay i feel compelled to put a public apology here SORRY KHEEXUAN the 4 of us will have another proper outing soon ) (and thanks guys for present-to-be, HAHAHAHA)

sunday was the special 15th. and i spent the most of it with nick. enjoyed the day out before going home at night to celebrate with family. (thanks square for the Topman tee) then later it was with class clique at my place. qinsheng and yuxuan arrived very early. calvin reached by 10 plus and we just chilled and talked till about 2 or so and had lovely macs breakfast the following morning (i took leave from work). thanks for the cute rubiks-cube-lookalike CLOCK ah haha please song zhong me on my birthday. calvin got an ahbeng-looking beanie for his birthday on the 17th. (Y)

on the 16th nick and i broke up. but now we’re back. okay that’s all i’m saying. happy things, this post.

but thank you ben for keeping me company on the 17th and for the happy hour beer (and for that white DKNY briefs with cyan lining as birthday present; it’s my favourite pair of underwear now<3). and hazel and qinsheng who took turns keeping me company the subsequent nights. oh on the 18th went to kevin’s birthday at the arena with calvin quite fun haha.

now i shall upload some pictures to decorate this wordy post with. shall embark on a blogging spree the next few days(:  talk about the other aspects of my life like Work and Uni Apps and Movies and Army Prep (haha) and Hwachong and Going Out With Friends and other general things soon, hopefully in great detail, maybe even in separate posts so i make up for lost ground covered during this period of time. i only have 10 days left so it’d better be soon haha. Okay i really will, i promise myself. watch this space

Oh yes, and apart from the gifts and the celebration, thanks so much to the people who remembered and sent wishes via SMS or Facebook or MSN I appreciate it i think i replied all if i left out anyone sorry!!! because i am so superficial, i counted again and this year i had about 60!!! not bad compared to last year’s, even though it’s still not a lot okok popular people pls don’t come and haolian. Anyway i am much less popular than i hope because this blog gets damn freaking few views nowadays!!! sob sob boohoohoo. anyway i’m very very happy about this year because cliche cliche, i got to spend it with all my beloved Best Friends THANKS LOADS FOR EVERYTHING PEOPLE!!!
